FNUG Fantastica and a GIVEAWAY!

I was recently contacted by the very generous Annette from Shoppe Eclecticco in Singapore, asking if I would like to try a few of the polishes she stocked in her store.  To tell you the truth, I didn't actually know about her store, so when I checked it out I was super impressed with all the different brands that she carries.

She carries lots of international brands, such as Layla, Barry M, HITS, Jade, Nfu Oh, Man Glaze and FNUG as well a big selection of Indie, or as they are called on their site 'Artisanal' polishes.  I love sites like this because you can get a great variety of polishes from different brands, and not have to pay separate shipping costs from various different suppliers.

One of the polishes that I was sent to try was FNUG Fantastica. Anyone that is a holo whore *hands up* is going to know about the amazingness that are the FNUG holographic polishes.

Fantastica is a very pale green linear holographic.  It has excellent coverage and can nearly be worn just at one coat.  For these photos I have two coats with no top coat.   I'll let the pictures do the talking on this one!

I did a comparison with my other pale green linear holographic polishes, Nfu Oh 66 and Layla Jade Groove.  My bottle of Nfu Oh 66 is several years old and from the 'original' batch which was the most holographic.  The base colour of all these polishes is almost identical, but the linear effect is slightly different.  Each of these shows two coats with no top coat.

Now for the giveaway part.  As I said at the top of my post, the very generous Annette from Shoppe Eclecticco is sponsoring three prizes in this giveaway, as such we are asking you to follow Shoppe Eclecticco on Facebook to enter.  You can also get additional entries for following Shoppe Eclecticco on Twitter, Instagram or signing up to their newsletter.

You don't have to be a follower of More Nail Polish to enter the giveaway, but I will be giving away a bottle of Picture Polish Kryptonite to one lucky follower, so starting following (if you don't already) if you want to win that prize.

It is open internationally and closes in two weeks time (11 November 2012)

There are three prizes available from Shoppe Eclecticco for this giveaway.
  • One for my Australia/New Zealand readers,
  • One for my Asian readers and
  • One for my readers elsewhere in the world.
Following the drawing of the first three winners, a final draw will be held to determine the winner of the bottle of Picture Polish Kryptonite.

Thanks to Annette from Shoppe Eclecticco for providing these prizes.

Jade Fasicinio Violeta

I just checked the 'Find my iphone' app cause I couldn't find my ipad. There it is - the little dot showing it must still be sitting on my desk at work. Damn it! Now I'm going to be about 200 blog posts behind on Feedler tomorrow (and I wont even mention the stupid dragons I was wont be able to try breed tonight). Bugger.  I will just have to play with polish instead.

We've had lots of sunshine here lately, I can certainly feel summer on the way and soon the pool out back will be warm enough to swim in.  Sunshine = holographic polish, so I went through my significant pile of untrieds and selected this stunning holo.

Jade Fasicinio Violeta.  Bright squishy purple jelly holo.  Completely different to the finish to the Layla holos, and so unbelievably easy to apply. No special base required and no issues using fast drying top coats.  Those Brazilians really know how to make a holo polish.

I still have several Jade polishes that were sent to me by the wonderful Rafa at Nails Ink. *waves*  Now that the warmer weather in here, I know I will be wearing these Brazilian polish quite a bit.

Which is your favourite Jade holo shade?

Jade Mystic Gold

Last week I received the most AMAZING belated swap package from the wonderfully generous Rafa at Nails Ink. The package she sent me contained 29!!! stunning Brazilian polishes.  She sent the entire Jade holo collection, the entire HITS Mari Moon collection, there were Rivka Holos, Ellen Gold duochromes, 5cinco flakies and a few other goodies too. I am still completely blown away by the amount of polish that was included in the little box.  This is one happy little nail polish addict rolling around on her beg amongst bottles of polish!

Choosing one polish to wear first was a real trial, in the end I chose Jade Mystic Gold.  1. because it was a sunny winter's day and 2) because it is the most amazing rich gold holo I have ever seen and I have nothing like it in my collection.

After wearing it for a day, I added some stamping from the new Bundle Monster plates, that I just had to order after seeing everyone wearing the new designs.

I really need to practice my nail stamping.  It's ok, but I wish I had stamping skills like the nailXchange. Practice makes perfect, right!

Love the Jade holos. They are a completely different type of holo polish compared to the Layla's.  These are jelly like, transparent by opaque.  Can't wait to wear them all. Thanks again Rafa - I have something special planned to send you!

Reswatch - Ozotic 600 and 601

One year ago yesterday I swatched this polish for the first time and I recently went through the 600 collection a re-swatched them all.  My previous swatches of this polish were ok and I'm happy with how I captured the holo effect, but man I hate how my nails were shaped back then.  They look long and badly shaped!! Argad!

I'm much happier with my nail length and shape now days, but I have to say I get sick of filing!! I feel like I have to do it every second day to keep them this length.

Ozotic 600 is a salmon pink colour, with the trademark large particle scattered holographic particles that is in all the 600 series polishes.

Ozotic 601.  Now I reckon I have three different versions of this one.  I did a comparison of the old and new 601's back in September last year, and looking at this polish it seems somewhere inbetween the old one and the old new one.

This version is definilty the most recent version available, as I only received it last month and it's in the new square bottle.

All these swatches are two coats with Seche Vite top coat.  I think these irregular shaped large holo particles are really pretty.  I'm surprised that no one has sourced these to franken with yet.

JOSS FX colour - swatches and review part 2

Here is part two of my review of the new JOSS FX colour polishes from Beauty World.

The three polishes I showed yesterday had a strong foil finish and were in lighter, more subdued colours.  There is nothing subdued or subtle about these next three polishes.  They are loud, in your face and stunningly gorgeous. Again I have taken WAY too many photos of these, so sorry for the downloads if you pay by the MB!

Alternate Dimension is a bronze toned coral colour. It's almost like a dark orange.  This is such an unique colour among my many holographic polishes, I do not have anything like it from Ozotic, HITS, Ludurana, Glitter Gal or Layla and I haven't seen a Jade match for it either.

This is two coats over a regular base and top coat.  It doesn't drag or make bald spots and a top coat doesn't dull the holo.

Often blogger swatches are taken when polish is still tacky, because when you are swatching you are putting it on, photographing it, and taking it straight off again.  Waiting for a polish to totally dry can drag swatching out over a very, very long time.  I did find that I needed to allow these polishes to fully dry before taking any photos, because when the polish was still tacky, the holo effect appeared more scattered. But the good news is, it looks its best when totally dry.

Caribbean Holiday looks just like the sparkly waters of the Caribbean.  OK, I've never been there, but I'm sure this glittering polish represents it pretty well.  A rich aqua blue polish with a brilliant holo effect.  Similar to the soon to be discontinued Ozotic 515, but more aqua.

Two coats topped with Seche Vite.

Sudden Impulse is one of the brightest most richly coloured holographic polishes I've seen.  It's a strong bright pink that almost looks red on the edges of the nail. Strong linear holographic finish and shown here at two coats.

Now, do I need to go over the details from yesterday again?  To recap:
  • Want to buy franken supplies and think you can meet the $110 minimum - shop at Beauty World
  • Single unit price for the JOSS FX colours at Beauty World is $9.95
  • Get 6 free JOSS polishes when you place your order at Beauty World (until end June 2012).
  • Spending less than $110 - Head to the Franken Nail Polish shop on Facebook.
  • Single unit price for the JOSS FX colours on Facebook is $12.95.
  • Buy as little as one bottle on the facebook shop.
  • No international shipping available
So there you have them.  What do you think?  Are you as in love with these polishes as I am?  Fantastic formula, great full sized bottles with a nice brush, unique colours and finishes.   Oh, and get excited cause this is what they say on the facebook page "A new collection out soon with combinations of holo and colour travel glitters - stay tuned." SQUEEEEEE!
