Pretty Serious - Mummy Mush

I'm feeling a tired and lazy tonight after spending the my first day back in the office today after the Christmas/New Year break, therefore I've just got one swatch to share with you.  I wore this before Christmas, which is when I fell in love with it and it made my top polishes for the year.

Pretty Serious Mummy Mush is from the Monster Mash collection and it's a golden glass fleck polish that it totally unlike any other I have seen.  The base colour is actually quite pink. When I swatched it onto my swatch sticks I was amazed at how pink the base was, especially when holding the stick up to the light.  However as soon as you layer two or three coats, that pink disappears and ends up providing a soft fleshy coloured gold.  The gold flecks are just how I like them, cool toned (and it even has a blue flash), yet the pink base warms it up just slightly. I'm completely in love with this polish, if your a gold lover like me - this one is a no brainer!

This is three coats of Mummy Mush with a single coat of Seche Vite.

Pretty Serious - Hot Summer Nights & Twinkling Lights

Here are a couple of polishes from the Pretty Serious - Christmas without Snow collection.

Hot Summer Nights - This one is a deep, dark blue jelly.  It's a bit darker than my photos show, which were taken in full sun so they really bring out the dense glittery sparkle.  Although it's dark, you can definitely tell its still blue, and not black.  The glitter particles are really dense and the finished look is really glamorous and sophisticated.   Because of the fine glitter in this, I found it was a little textured so I put two layers on top coat on.

Twinkling Lights - These two are perfectly paired with each other, in fact that is exactly how Kaz designed them.  This is one coat of Twinkling Lights and the photos are taken in the shade.  You can see the base colour is much darker in the shade, and almost looks black. But when the light hits it you see the dark blue sparkle shining though all the small aqua blue glitters and copper hexes.

Pretty Serious - They came from beyond space

I've had these pictures for quite a while, and just haven't got around to showing them yet.  I guess is wasn't totally happy with the pictures, because they fail to capture all the gorgeous duochrome colours in these polishes, but I'm getting low of material to show (blogging every day is a tough gig to keep up with!)

Atomic Brain - predominantly a purple foil but has a obvious metallic golden pink shift.  Three coats with seche vite top coat.  This has the same base and shift colour as China Glaze No Plain Jane from the Bohemian collection, but this has a foil finish and is completely steak free. It is also like Ozoitc Scatter Chrome 912 - but without any of the holo particles.

Phantom Planet - yellow green with that shifts to blue.  This has the same base and shift colour as China Glaze Unpredictable/Missha HGR001/Peripera Metallic Green, but this has a foil finish and is completely steak free.  It is also like Ozoitc Scatter Chrome 915 - but without any of the holo particles.

Galaxy Invader - aqua blue metallic foil that shifts to purple.  Three coats with seche vite top coat. This ones seems to be the most unique for me.  There isn't a matching polish from the China Glaze Bohemians, or in the Ozotic Scatter chromes, although the colour combination of aqua to purple seems a very familiar one to me.

The formula on all these was a little thick, but excellent to apply .  I hate a watery runny polish that floods your cuticles. I also love that you don't have to wear a black base, but of course if you wanted to you can.

Pretty Serious - Golden Ticket

You know what? Sometimes people are just plain awesome! Case and point...

With the recent release of her Christmas Without Snow Collection, Kaz from Pretty Serious included Golden Tickets in the packages of 10 lucky ladies who purchased a polish from the new collection.  I got the whole beautiful collection, but sadly I wasn't one of the lucky few, although I knew a couple of ladies who were. YAY for them!

On our Aussie Nails Facebook group, some of the lucky ladies were sharing their winning tickets, and I made a rather cheeky comment against one of them saying I was going to need to get a decant from someone's bottle!  Low and behold, less than an hour later, I had received an email from one of the ladies offering to send me a decant.  Holy Shit right!  That's just plain awesome, and such a wonderful and generous thing for someone to have done.

So this is a shout out to Alanna, from Pretty Purple Polish. Alanna is the one who very kindly shared her bottle, because she knew how much I loved gold polish!  It arrived in the mail yesterday and I put it on straight away.

Pretty Serious Golden Ticket has a shimmery golden base with gold and holo gold bars and hexes of various sizes.  I used two coats on all my fingers except for these photo nails, where I added a third very thin coat.  I wanted to use this polish very sparingly, as I only have a small amount!  I added two layers of top coat just to make is really smooth and shiny.

Damn holo glitter polishes are soooooooooooo hard to capture in photographs.  This is so much more sparkly in real life!

I have to say that this polish really reminds me of Lynnderella - Be Mining for a heart of gold. They both have the same shimmery base, the same holo gold glitters and both polishes are a very similar colour.  The only difference is that Be Mining just has more holo gold glitter than Golden Ticket.

You can see Alanna's photo of the full sized bottle on her blog - plus a photo of the actual Golden Ticket.

Pretty Serious - Santa's Sunburn - Aussie Christmas Challenge - Beach

Today's theme in the Aussie Christmas Challenge is Beach. What happens when you go to the beach?  You get sunburn!  So today's polish is perfect.  Pretty Serious Santa's Sunburn.

WOW, what an amazing red polish! I've never really liked my fingers wearing red, but I've worn this for two day's now.  This polish makes me realize why so many people love red polish.

Santa's Sunburn is a rich red red. Not too yellow or too blue.  Holy Shit Kaz, this polish is amazing!  Oh, and guess what?  This is one coat.  That's right this is the most amazing one coat red with a gold shimmer.  This polish will be perfect for stamping!!

I remember when I got the Kleancolor Metallic polishes and I was so disappointed in the red one cause it was really burgundy.  This is what I want a metallic red to look like.  It's 100% Christmas in a bottle.

On day two I added a fine glitter gradient from my cuticle edge.  I just dabbled on a little bit of Lynnderella Love, Lace and Lilacs.  I received heaps of compliments on this mani.

Pretty Random 'In the Night" - Claris & Elliot

Today I have a couple of polishes from the new Pretty Serious "In the Night" Collection.  The whole collection is based on a 1990's Sega Saturn game called Nights into Dreams, and the fact that Kaz has based this collection from that retro game is totally geeky and awesome!

The two polishes I have are named after the two children characters in the game, the girl Claris and the boy Elliot.  I just love how she has gone with the classic pink and blue shades for the girl and boy.

Claris - is a bit of a cross between and creme and a jelly finish, which I've seen referred to as a crelly.  So that's what I'm going with.  This pink crelly polish is packed with tiny gold flakes which give a really rich and strong shimmer.  I'm not a huge lover of pink polishes, but the gold shimmer in this has totally won me over.  This is three coats on its own.

Elliot - is sky blue and packed with silver micro flakes.  Elliot is more opaque and this is two coats.  What I love about the shimmer in this one is that it makes you nails look like they are sparkling wet. Forbidden Fruit from the Pretty Random Hello World collection has this same look and I love it.

I found the formula on both these polishes was really good, thick but smooth and the brush was easy to use and keep clean around my cuticles.  They also dry to a very shiny glossy finish, and none of these pictures have top coat.

You can get the Pretty Serious In The Night collection from pretty-serious.com. Polishes are $9.95 AUD and she does ship internationally.

Polishes sent to me for review.
